Introducing the New Altru Launch Page, Now with Fewer Trucker Hats
I swear this is a blog about Museum Management Software ; stick with me.
While I am now enjoying weekends off work, I am finding that my weekends are still, indeed, full of work. This last weekend in particular, was full of spring cleaning. Trash bags were filled with old clothes and hats (seriously, how many trucker hats can one husband accumulate?), shoes, the lamp that has survived every post-college move until now, and a set of dishes, that I’m sure was once for 4, but now barely covers 2.5. We loaded the car and delivered everything to Goodwill, leaving the house with less clutter, allowing easier access to the things we use often and making room for new additions.
Like my house, the Altru launch page has been spring-cleaned for the upcoming April release, removing the old to make room for the new (and improved). From this new launch page, you’ll be able to use a variety of resources to get connected and stay informed. Old and busted, meet new hotness.
If change makes you nervous, don’t worry – the launch page still includes all the information you need. Your Start Altru icon is in the same spot, easily accessible for your everyday use. What’s New is located just below, where you can check out the new feature guide, videos, and the KnowHow blog.
But here’s the fun part: Utilities, Blackbaud Index, Mobilize and Blackbaud TV (now at bottom of page) have been replaced by the Latest Altru News, where you’ll see our four most recent .blog posts.
These posts will cover product updates, tips and tricks, how-to guides, studies, best practices, and stories about you – our users! We’ll be featuring your recommendations, upcoming events, success stories, and accomplishments. With your input and our research, we’ll create posts that offer solutions and start conversations.
New to the page: support links are listed first with Knowledgebase and How-to documentation added as icons for easy accessibility. Case Central has also been listed, letting you manage your cases right from the launch page. The Training icon consolidates our videos and class schedule; watch videos and sign up for classes there.
Up until now, we’ve just moved some things around on the bottom of the page. Here are the new (read: awesome) additions:
An icon for the community has been added. Hopefully you know about the community (if not, read What is the Altru Community?) and have been able to connect with each other and our team there. The idea icon will also lead you to the community, where you can suggest your idea and check the status of other suggestions. This replaces Ideabank, so be sure to take all your Altru ideas to the community from now on.
Product Discovery has also been added. Sign up here to be a part of the process. We’d love your input on future product features or changes.
Our last big addition: Mobile Check In. Here you’ll be able to check in your registrants at preregistered programs from your Ipad and other mobile devices. Check the blog tomorrow; we’ll be posting all the details on mobile check in.
I love this new launch page; it’s clean and concise with some great new features added – and it will be delivered to you overnight while you sleep. If only someone would do that with my house!
