NEW Altru Feature: Online Registration for Programs
Thanks for this suggestion, Altru community! One of our new features coming in the April release will extend online event registration from just special fundraising events to now include those program events such as classes, camps, and workshops that require named registration! Here’s a quick breakdown of what you can do.
Pre-Registered Programs
We have extended functionality for online Event Registration to now include Preregistered Programs! Previously you could only sell Programs where attendees didn’t need to pre-register with their contact or other personal information; this was primarily used for general admission tickets. After the Q4 2011 release, you were able to sell tickets to fundraising events like your annual Gala and collect some basic registrant information, but this only worked for Special Events. New functionality in Altru now allows you to create online Registration Forms for preregistered programs – art classes, lectures, summer camps, and all your other exciting programs! This new functionality also allows you to take advantage of the ticket pricing logic and provided for dynamic member discounts.
How can I get started?
After April 24, head over to the Manage Event Registration Forms page to see what scheduled programs you have setup to require registration. Highlight individual program events and click the icon to Approve for website, and you’re ready to start selling online! Click Options to customize how the program shows up on your website, or edit a specific time if you’d like to add other fields (preferences) to show up on the web. Now get to selling!
Note: You can check for the “Requires registration” indicator on the scheduled program page. If your programs don’t require registration information, you can still sell tickets online – they will just show up on the Manage Program Forms page under the Web menu. To enable registration when setting up a new event, just check the “Requires registration” box on the initial setup form, and you can then start collecting information when patrons sign up for your programs online!
Promote it!
Highlight new programs available online with a splash on your homepage to get patrons directed to self-service signup for those programs they so love!
