New Online Admissions and Online Reenrollment Features in 6.41 – Part I

Through the development of our latest release, we invested a lot of focus on developing new features for Online Admissions and Online Reenrollment. Many of these features are based on feedback we heard from you, our clients, through our Blackbaud NetCommunity Idea Bank – a great tool used to record new ideas and suggestions, as well as track votes for these new features.

Based on your feedback, I’d like to introduce a few of our new features. To consolidate form processing, we can now manage forms in the NetCommunity plugin within The Education Edge. You can continue processing forms within the plugin, with the benefit of accessing features that were previously available only in the web interface. Think of the plugin as a “one-stop shop” for managing and updating forms, as well as viewing started and completed forms.

Another form processing feature we’ve improved is navigating between steps. In previous versions, users have had to navigate through each step in order to get to a specific step. For example, if your steps are Biographical, Parent Guardian, Previous School, Medical and Financial Aid, it can be tedious to jump through the first few completed steps to review your entries on the Medical tab. With 6.41, you can now click the desired step and access that step instantly.

Online Admissions and Reenrollment forms can be used for multiple purposes. Reenrollment forms are used as medical update forms by some organizations; however, a frustration with using the forms in this way is the text within the hyperlink. When end users access the forms to complete them, the text has always read Reenroll, regardless of what task the form is used for. In our latest version, you can reappoint the text to whatever needed, e.g., Update Medical Information, Update Financial Aid Request, etc.
