Luminate Online New Feature: Cross-Client Email Preview

So you opened your email that looked just fine in preview in your personal Yahoo! account and guess what? The spacing is all off, and you just don’t see how it could have happened – especially after all of that work! Having consistent content for all of your constituents will help ensure that your efforts are as effective as they possibly can be, maximizing the readability and response your messages produce.

As far as web browsers have come with maintaining standards where you can expect a fair amount of your content to look the same across the popular browsers, email clients still are far behind in consolidating the way that they display HTML and CSS.

That is where Luminate Online’s new cross client preview comes in to help. With the new feature, you can get an accurate preview of your email content on 62 combinations of the most popular email clients and mobile devices. We have partnered with Email on Acid to provide this service directly within the email creation and testing interface in Luminate Online. One of the great benefits of partnering with Email on Acid is that the built in preview widget will be updated independently of any release cycles for Luminate Online so that you will always be up to date with the latest available email clients and mobile devices.

The preview options are presented right in the normal flow of testing an email:

As an administrator, you can choose which email clients to preview your message in (all of them if you want!) and determine if there are any possible display issues in any client or device, and then use the tips (Emailology tips at Email on Acid) to fix common discrepancies between email clients. Your organization can choose  the number of tests a month that fits your needs at a few different tiers, and for testing every organization receives 5 free tests per month.

You can also use our new reporting options to keep an eye on the usage of your new tool, and which administrators are making use of the preview. These new features are added right in the Email model in ReportWriter.
