The Patron Edge/The Patron Edge Online DIY – Part I
I’m a big fan of do-it-yourself (DIY) projects. I just love building/fixing/organizing things around my house. With the weather becoming warmer and warmer, it’s time to start those projects that I put off all winter. In the spirit of all those DIY projects I have around the house, I thought it would be a great idea to share some ideas on DIY projects that you can do in The Patron Edge/The Patron Edge Online over the next few posts. We’ll go room to room to see what improvements we can make. Up first: cleaning out the garage!
When I think of how The Patron Edge Online relates to my house, I think of it like the garage. If you are anything like my family, we rarely park our cars in our garage. We think of it more like a giant storage room. It is where we store the tools to make our house look nice. Things like the paint we used on the walls, the lawnmower, extra straw (or mulch if you prefer), etc.
Your Patron Edge Online database is what holds all the design elements that make your website (house) look pretty. So, how do we clean out The Patron Edge Online garage? We use The Patron Edge Online Database Cleanup tool. Think of it as the tool that sifts and sorts through all the old junk and removes it if it has expired.
The Patron Edge Online Database Cleanup tool removes any unnecessary information (from a specific set of tables) that’s older than the number of months you selected to keep. The default number of months is 6, so it would remove anything older than 6 months. It can be run manually via the Administration Site or automatically via a SQL job. For more information on the tool, including which specific tables it cleans, and how to run it manually or automatically, check out the Administration Site Tasks section in the user guide.
